What does blackjack pays 3 to 2 mean?
It means a blackjack pays 3 for every 2 you bet. A bet of 10 is paid 15. At a table that pays 6 to 5, the same bet is paid 12.
These answers are for a 6 deck game where the dealer stands on soft 17, blackjack pays 3 to 2, and you can double on any two cards, including after a split.
Why
Blackjacks come about once every 21 hands, so the payout on them matters. A table that pays 6 to 5 takes a large share of what the best hand in the game earns you.
The payout is printed on the felt. Read it before you sit down. Every answer on these pages assumes 3 to 2.
The play against every dealer card
